This past March of 2008, OCI sent a 41-member team of highly accomplished doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals to Ghana. While in this country, where the medical needs are immense, our team performed 150 surgeries in 10 days, and donated $300,000 worth of medical equipment and supplies to two hospitals, an orphanage, and a refugee camp. Among the procedures and treatments provided by these amazing humanitarians who make up the OCI family, we offer medical care in the way of:

Additionally, we have brought our devoted efforts to children here in the United States, where there remains a substantial need for basic primary care. In March 2009, OCI will be returning to Ghana on our third mission to the country. We will be carrying on with our previous commitment to provide much-needed medical care, especially in regards to optical treatment, as Ghana has some of the highest incidences of cataracts in the world. |
